Al Khashab Claims Most Titles

It was an amazing National Championship weekend! The show saw six (!) yearling filly classes with 96 entrants. For European spectators that was outstanding. Nowadays, not many shows in Europe enjoy 90 and more entrants. Within this tough competition, it is a special honour and challenge to win National Championships. One farm celebrated a lot of success: Al Khashab Stud claimed several titles, two Gold, one Silver and one Bronze. Also notable, four Silver winners were bred by Dubai Arabian Horse Stud.

The international board of judges enjoyed three days with some exciting championships on Saturday evening. The first decision made was that of the Yearling Fillies. High scorer – with 92 points - of all yearling fillies became Feuer Nane Bint Neva, a Wadee Al Shaqab daughter out of Russian bred Neva Bint Volga, bred by Ivan Vieider and owned by Khaled Al Nughemshe. It is not self-evident that the high scoring horse will win the Gold Championship but in this case, Feuer Nane Bint Neva succeed. Followed by D Showf (FA El Rasheem x D Sahabah) and KRC Jameel (Motair Al Baydaa x BA-Magic W) winning Silver and Bronze respectively.

In the three yearling colts classes again the high scorer (93 points) was also the choice of the judges for Gold Champion Yearling Colt: Harbi Al Adwan is sired by Asfour Al Waab, proudly bred and owned by Adwan Ateej Aladwani. Harbi’s dam Wadha Al Adwan (Fayad Alfayyad x Platinum Psylouette) accomplished show honours for her breeder before, being 2016 Kuwait Arabian Horse Breeders Show Gold Champion Yearling Filly and 2016 National Bronze Champion Junior Filly. Silver was given to another class winner, D Wasel (D Mashary x D Rowaida), followed by Turki Al Soor ( Sultan Al Zobair x Tanqueray Bey) in the class and in the championship.

The first major success for Al Khashab was the win of the Gold Champion Yearling Filly with the two years old TM Galileah. This filly won her class with 92,88 points and became the high scorer of all fillies. Bred by Jose Orlando A Teixeira Junior in South America, the Shanghai EA daughter TM Galileah is out of Karolina. For the third time in a row, a horse bred by Dubai Arabian Horse Stud earned Silver. It was a tied decision between TM Galileah and D Lamar (FA El Rasheem x Marilynn Monroe). Both fillies received 13 points in the championship and due to higher points in her class, TM Galileah accomplished Gold. Bronze was given to the Kahil Al Shaqab daughter SS Raia Anastasia (out of Ash Ranya).

The judges agreed more on the Junior Colt Champion. It was again a horse sired by Shanghai EA, the two years old Asayel Legacy out of JB Wizcayam. Asayel Legacy granted the second Gold title to his proud breeder and owned by Khaled Al Nughemshe. Silver and Bronze were given to the winner and second place of the three years old colts. The Silver winner, Prometheus CW (SF Veraz x Amber Baasma), was bred in the USA, while Bronze winning Anaaz Alfayyad (Fayad Alfayyad x Katifa Al Zobair) was bred in Kuwait.

The judges and spectators witnessed four well-filled senior mares classes. Al Khashab celebrated a double success by winning Silver and Bronze with their beauties Amanda Pegasus (Shaezz El Madan x Kasetta Pegasus) and CAP Bianca (Shanghai EA x Arabians Blanca), both had won their classes earlier. In the championship, they were only bested by AV Dalia, the high scorer of all females with 93,63 points. This Ajman Moniscione daughter out of Egyptian-Russian bred AV Dolimha was bred by Arabian Valley Stud and is owned by Ali Matar Al Wawan. An elegant chestnut beauty just like her famous sire, AV Dalia is no newcomer to the show ring. She accomplished 2012 European Silver Champion Junior Filly for instance.

In the Senior Stallion Championship, the judges could choose from the qualifiers of two classes. The winner took a long shot at goal: Al Khashab Stud’s Shakar Pegasus became second in his age class but accomplished Gold Champion. Bred by Raul Espolio and owned by Al Khashab Stud, Shakar Pegasus is another winning get of Shaezz El Madan while his dam Jameel Pegasus adds the influence of Ali Jamaal. Silver was given to D Meras (D Maraksh x Rohara Hallmarc), who won the class over Shakar Pegasus before. Again precious medal for Ali Matar Al Wawan. Bronze was given to US-bred Spartacus TO (Marwan Al Shaqab x DA Shania), owned by Hassan Mubarak Al Hindal.

Congratulations to all of the competitors and a very sincere thank you to the fantastic support of the organizing team of Bait Al Arab Kuwait State Stud which hosted the 7th Kuwait National Championship. Arabian Horse Global Network would like to extend our thanks for the excellent collaboration.
