The judges & Officials of the 2016 Al Khalediah European Arabian Horse Festival

The third edition of the Al Khalediah European Arabian Horse Festival took place on the 19th through the 21st of August, 2016. The show was once again hosted by Al Khalediah Poland Stud and held at the Al Khalediah Poland Stud in Nowe Wrońska, near Warsaw. Hubert Kulesza is the director of both the Festival and Al Khalediah Poland Stud. The halter competition was held on the 19th and 20th and the Al Khalediah Poland Cup was held on August 21st at Warsaw’s Służewiec Race Track.

The Al Khalediah European Arabian Horse Festival is on a scale unlike anything else in Europe or America. There were incredible prizes – Ford cars and trucks for the Champions and prize money of 4000 PLN for all of the Class winners and the Top Five horses in every class and additional checks for the Silver and Bronze Champions. These enticing awards, and the show’s reputation for first class VIP services, as well as the excellent accommodations for the horses and attending staff, make the Al Khalediah European Arabian Horse Festival one of the top events of the year.

The Judges of the Al Khalediah Festival were among the most respected and experienced professionals in the business including Mr. Cedes Bakker of The Netherlands, Mrs. Christianne Chazel of France, Mr. Bruce McCrea of Saudi Arabia and USA, Mrs. Maria Pilar Cavero Pino of The Netherlands and Spain and Mr. Tomasz Tarczynski of Poland.

AJ NURAI

Friday morning Classes began with two sections of Yearling Fillies. Winning Section A was AJ NURAI (AJ Mardan x Ysadora) bred and owned by Ajman Stud, UAE. Earning First Place in Section B with three scores of 20 for movement was POGANINKA (El Omari x Pentra) bred and owned by Michalów Stud of Poland. Next was the Two-Year-Old Fillies Class won by MALIKAT AL MOLUK (Mameluk x Asalat Al Hala) bred by Halawa Khader of Israel and owned by Mubaraq Hamdan Al Khashab of the UAE.

After a lunch break and the chance for guests to visit, the afternoon began with Three-Year-Old Fillies. Winning this class with three scores of 20 for Head & Neck was the breath-taking bay AJ SAWARI (Marwan Al Shaqab x Siberia SA by Nuzyr HCF) bred and owned by Ajman Stud of the UAE. The moment I saw this filly enter the ring, she captivated me with her unique style and special look. She was my favorite horse of the show and I hope someday to see her in person.

ELIDUS

Next, were the Yearling Colts, which also had two sections. Taking home the title of Section A Class Winner and a paycheck for 4000 EU was CYCLONE OS (RFI Farid x Inspired Najla) bred and owned by Hienz Stockle of Gestut Osterhof, Germany. Earning First Place in Section B Yearling Colts was ELIDUS (HK Krystal x Elidia) bred and owned by Malopolska Hodowla Roslin Ltd of Poland.

FUERTE

The next class was for Two-Year-Old-Colts and the winner was very familiar with the winners’ circle because only last week he was named Polish National Gold Champion Junior Colt, the winner was FUERTE (Shanghai EA x Frymuszika) bred by Jan Dobrzynski of Poland and owned by Sami Ben Saad of Saudi Arabia. In the following Class for Three-Year-Old Colts, the winner was a paternal half brother to FUERTE – this was SHIRAZ DE LAFON (Shanghai EA x Diacira De Lafon) bred by Earl Mas De Lafon of France and owned by Christine Jamar of Jadem Arabians in Belgium.

INSPIRED NAJLA

The final Class on Friday was Mares 4-6 Years-Old. The winner here was also the dam of the Yearling Colts Class Winner, CYCLONE OS. This was INSPIRED NAJLA (Ajman Moniscione x Natalia) bred by Gerhard & Andrea Schick of Inspired Stud of Germany and owned by Ajman Stud of the UAE. INSPIRED NAJLA’s dam is by Narym and out of Nebylica, both of which were sired by Balaton. Perhaps this accounts for her success as a champion show mare and as a champion-producing broodmare.

Beginning the show on Saturday morning was the Class for Senior Mares 7-Years-Old & Over. The winner of this Class with one score of 20 for Type and four scores of 20 for Head & Neck was another personal favorite, FELICIA RLC (Shael Dream Desert x Camelia K) bred by Rodingo Lotuzi De Casho of Brazil and owned by Ajman Stud. FELICIA RLC is a lovely mare that any breeders love to own.

PSYCHE KERET

Next was the Class for Stallions 4-6 Years-Old and the winner was PSYCHE KERET (Khidar x Psyche Victoria) bred and owned by Stadnina Koni Chrcynno Palace of Poland. PSYCHE VICTORIA, the dam of PSYCHE KERET, was recently named Gold Champion Senior Mare at the AHO Breeders Championship Europe Show in Chantilly, France. Congratulations on your excellent results. Winning the final qualifying Class of Stallions 7-Years-Old & Over, was the delightful AJA ANGELO (WH Justice x AJA Aaisha) bred by Malcolm & Jane Hickford of Aja Arabians in Great Britain and owned by Al Baydaa Stud of Egypt.

AJ SAWARI

The Junior Fillies Championship brought another opportunity to see my favorite- and she was the judges’ favorite as well…The Gold Champion Junior Filly was AJ SAWARI (Marwan Al Shaqab x Siberia SA by Nuzyr HCF) bred and owned by Ajman Stud of the UAE. SAWARI also won a new Ford Kuga for her owners – but in my opinion, she herself is the best prize of all. The Silver Champion Junior Filly also earned a check for 8000 PLN, won by the two-year-old MALIKAT AL MOLUK (Mameluk x Asalat Al Hala) bred by Halawa Khader of Israel and owned by Mubaraq Hamdan Al Khashab. The Bronze Champion Junior Filly and winner of 6000 PLN was WASALIA (EKS Alihandro x Wasa) bred and owned by Falborek Arabians of Poland.

The Silver Champion Junior Colt and winner of a check for 8000PLN was SHIRAZ DE LAFON (Shanghai EA x Diacira De Lafon) bred by Earl Mas De Lafon and owned by Christine Jamar. Bringing home a check for 6000 PLN and the title of Bronze Champion Junior Colt was CALATEON (Vitorio TO x Calatea) bred and owned by Marek Kondrasiuk of Poland.

Next were the lovely Senior Mares. The winner of a brand new Ford Ranger truck and the title of Gold Champion was FELICIA RLC (Shael Dream Desert x Camelia K) bred by Rodingo Lotuzi De Casho and owned by Ajman Stud. The Silver Champion Senior Mare and winner of 8000 PLN was INSPIRED NAJLA (Ajman Moniscione x Natalia) bred by Gerhard & Andrea Schick and owned by Ajman Stud. Awarded the title of Bronze Champion Senior Mare and a check for 6000 PLN was a mare loved around the world, WIEZA MOCY (QR Marc x Wieza Marzen) bred and owned by Michalów Stud.

PSYCHE KERET (Khidar x Psyche Victoria) bred and owned by Stadnina Koni Chrcynno Palace of Poland was the Bronze Champion Senior Stallion as well as the winner of 6000 PLN – not bad for his day’s work!

In a final gesture of generosity, the Best in Show Winner was awarded an additional 15,000 PLN, which was presented to the lovely AJ SAWARI (Marwan Al Shaqab x Siberia SA by Nuzyr HCF) bred and owned by Ajman Stud of the UAE. Congratulations to Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, the owner of Ajman Stud and the breeder of this very special young mare.
